The Disney Cruise Line is a part of the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts division and Karl Holz, as President runs this wonderful business.
The Castaway Cay is a private island in the Bahamas, and is owned by the Line along with its ships the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder. All Disney ships call on Castaway Cay. Disney Cruises call on Nassau, St.Thomas/St.John, Key West, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, St.Croix, Tortola, Northern European Capital Ports, and Mediterranean Cruise Ports; besides, of course, calling on Castaway Cay!
The 4-Night Bahamian Cruise is a truly refreshingly enchanting cruise. You get a full day at sea and you can enjoy it – Disney style. It is undiluted fun and games all the way. Embarkation is from Port Canaveral. The first day sees you in Nassau. This place still has a certain amount of the British charm.The 17th century saw pirates, including Blackbeard who controlled this region. When civilization was restored in the 18th century, then Nassau started prospering. Now, of course there are shops and casinos for those who enjoy spending money, but more importantly there are the most astoundingly beautiful beaches. Throughout the city you find remnants of British colonialism. The Caribbean has that magical property that as soon as you start breathing in that air, you feel rejuvenated. For the adventurous, there is any number or opportunities where you can try your physical prowess. For the historically inclined, there is a fort that you could explore. You can also visit some gardens with the most fabulous of flora.
The second day finds you at Castaway Cay, which is Disney’s private island. There is something here for everyone: fun and games for the children and teenagers, and, for adults, it is a place where you can unwind and get back your mental space and stability by just spending all your time on the beach. The 3rd day you are at sea. The liner plans all kinds of exciting activities on board so that the fun continues. The 4th day sees you back at Port Canaveral.1998, July 30, saw The Disney Magic launched, and in 1999, on August 15, Disney Wonder set sail. The ships are fabulously done up. There are 875 staterooms and all of them are identically designed. Both ships have designated areas for different age groups so that everyone can have a good time without stepping in each other’s space. Disney ships are built from the keel up. This is a kind of first in ship building. All Disney ships are built for family cruises.
One salient feature is that there are no casinos on board the Disney ships. The beauty of Disney ships lies in the fact that it beings back innocent fun for everybody. It is pure joy, and this is something quite rare in this fast-paced dog-eat-dog world. As you get on board, the song that welcomes you is from Pinocchio – When You Wish upon a Star. This tune is played by horns, and this sets the atmosphere from the word go.
