Would you be looking for a cruise which would offer comfortable cabins, fabulous destinations, and a dress code which is casual? The Norwegian Cruise Line is for you, then. The Norwegian Cruise Line has its headquarters in Miami, Florida. In 1966, when it started its operations, it was known as the Norwegian Caribbean Line.
It was Knut Kloster and Ted Arison who started this Line with an 830-ton cruise ship/car ferry service. They also offered low-cost Caribbean cruises. Arison left and formed another line, the Carnival Cruise Lines. The NCL is quite a pioneer, and has many firsts to her credit: the Out Island Cruise, the Cloud 9 Cruises which combined the cruise with low cost air travel, developed new ports like Ocho Rios in Jamaica. NCL created many innovations that have become the standard today. The Norwegian Cruise Line America is her daughter company.
Star Cruises and Apollo Management jointly own the NCL. This Line is famous for its Freestyle Cruising concept. This means that there is a totally relaxed atmosphere and there are no set times for meals, neither are there any fixed seating arrangements. It is not necessary to dress formally. Though the atmosphere is casual, the service is highly personalized. In fact, NCL prides itself on the quality of its service. There is one crew member per cabin, so you are really pampered 24 hours of the day. Naturally, it is the destinations that the Line goes to that are important, and the NCL literally puts the world at your feet.
You can go to the four corners of the earth, from the sunny Caribbean to Buenos Aires where you can visit the phenomenal wildlife sanctuaries and the ruins of ancient civilizations. Alaska with its ice towers could be beckoning you. You could try our dog-sledding here as well. NCL offers her guests the bonus of extending your vacation. NCL freestyle cruising is what gives this Line its unique character. Guests on this liner relax and since there is no set schedule, you are free to do what you want. Maybe a complete break from routine is just what you need to recharge your batteries.
There is fun, and the environment is quite laid-back and unconventional. Those who thrive in such an atmosphere will really be able to enjoy themselves. In effect, the clock stops ticking for you. Freestyle dining means that you are free to choose which dining experience you’d like to have. Then you call that particular dining room and make your reservation. Your menu features every possible cuisine from burgers and fries, to sushi to pizzas and pastas, to French cuisine.
There are a host of activities planned for the guests – you could play a round of golf, or play tennis, or maybe just curl up with a book. Maybe you would like the spa experience or just watch the world go by. Of course there is the usual shore excursions planned for you. The 7-day Western Caribbean round-trip cruise from Miami on board the Norwegian Pearl is an example of how you can totally relax on the NCL Line. The ports of call are Miami, Roatan, Belize City, Cozumel and the Great Stirrup Cay.
